He spent 10 years’ in the City of London passing his Securities & Investment examinations, working on trading desks before moving into product distribution, marketing and client facing roles.
Alan has operated across the UK leading and managing sales teams with a particular focus on EMIR, MIFID I & II and Basel III implications for UK businesses ensuring good corporate governance and performance.
He has CF30 Customer designation and held senior derivative sales positions achieving Director level status and membership of a Steering Committee within a UK Commercial Bank Division.
Alan is focused on the UK SME segment particularly cross Northern England and those businesses who are, or about to be, exposed to fluctuations in Foreign Exchange rates and (existing) Interest Rate structures that are being debated with their banker(s). He has a particular interest in the Primary Healthcare sector and Manufacturing businesses.
He is at an advanced stage in his Chartered Banker studies and is a member of The Chartered Banker Institute.
